Appearing 40 times in the World Series and winning 27 of them automatically makes Yankees hats a fan favorite. Who wouldn’t want to represent such a great team with such a rich history. The last time they won the chip was in 2009 in game 6 against the Phillies. And they haven’t been back since.
So far they’re having an ok year currently standing in 3rd place in the American league with an above 500 record of 12 and 7. Could this be the year they head back to the World Series? Yankees hats are in demand already, we can’t imagine the insanity of them going back for number 28.
Everyone knows they wear an all navy hat on the field with prinstripe uniform which is why we featured their pinstripe snapback just to switch it up a bit from the usual. As you’ll scroll below, you’ll see so many different colorways of Yankees hats and even ones to match air Jordans.
Now Jay-Z claims he made the Yankees hat famous, we can respect that. He definitely does hold his weight when it comes to influencing fashion. His roc nation hats have been doing great. He did make the navy Yankees hat and the air force ones very popular. We’ve talked about this before, celebrities drive fashion forward. The designers and brands bring their vision to life and then it comes down to how a stylist is going to dress up his or her client based on many factors.
When it comes to the Yankees hat, few can match it. Its design is one in a billion. Although the white logo goes well on every color, it still looks the best on the navy blue. Which is why the franchise have kept their on field choice consistent for decades. Again with such a rich history and classic logo and uniform, they’re in no hurry to rebrand themselves.
It’ll be by the time hell has frozen over that the Yankees heritage and following winds down. The Yankees continue to grow their base each year. And their merchandising is contributing un-proportionate volume to the collective league pool as opposed to some of the lesser market teams due to a few factors. For instance, some teams may have an unattractive logo or a losing history and this negatively affects demand for these affected teams.
Yankees hats are a staple for millions of people around the world. You couldn’t ask some to part with their hat for a few hours unless it’s an important formal event. For many it’s a part of who they are almost as much as their own names. They are determined to represent their team.
Moving on to production. Almost all production is overseas. If American Apparel is any indication, it doesn’t make sense to keep production in the USA. There are too many established hat brands that already produce Yankees hats and are manufacturing them overseas making it one of the barriers to entry for any brand thinking of entering the hat world.
They’re making Yankees hats with side patches that everyone has been going crazy over the last few years. You see the patches with a league, world series, player tribue, or park tribute. It seems that there are so many that it gives Yankees fans an opportunity to own several hats instead of the classic on-field fitted cap. For example, you can get it in over 2 dozen world series patches alone!
It’s hard to keep them all stocked up so you have to go on the hunt for them and get them as they come on the market. Think about it, there are dozens of other teams and a limited space of shelving or warehouse space. Retailers can only carry so many at a time because they have to stock up on other teams. Now, when it comes to World Series hats there are fewer teams since not all teams have gone or won the chip.
It would be interesting to find out from 47, New Era, Mitchell and Ness, and American Needle how many Yankees hats they sell each year. We really can’t even put out a ball park figure but we do know they are the bestsellers.
Apart from fans, regular folks wear the hat as a fashion statement. And because of its classic dark navy color and iconic logo, it literally matches any outfit. That’s part of what makes Yankees hats so popular. The other reason they’re so popular is, as previously mentioned, their winning rich history. The Yankees logo is put on dad hats, snapbacks, fitted hats, beanies and more but we’ll leave it there because it will eventually drift away from hats.
According to Forbes.com, the Yankees are worth $3.7 billion and without a doubt their merchandise outsells many other teams like the Tampa Bay Rays – we’re referring to on field and custom versions of the hats. It will be decades before we see any other team overshadow the Yankees’ heritage. The Boston Red Sox with its iconic Fenway Park have a rich heritage as well but they need a lot more championships to compete.
There is worldwide demand for Yankees hats. On every continent you’re sure to find a shop that sells them. And if you can’t find one, you can always count on us for worldwide shipping.
When you put on a Yankees hat, you feel like you’re part of the team. You’re literally wearing the same hat that Bret Gardner wears when you wear a New Era on field fitted cap. However, let’s admit it, there are times when you just don’t want to wear a fitted, but rather maybe you’re in the mood to wear your Yankees dad hat instead.
Not all Yankees logos are the same. The cooperstown or pastime logos are a bit skewed and slightly shorter in height. Those are great for collectors. What’s better than a replica of a Cooperstown Yankees world series fitted with the old skewed logo? The newer logo does of course. To give you an idea of another Yankees logo, take a look at the pinstripe uniform and take notice of the logo on the chest. It’s not the same as the hat. That’s right, they wear a past time logo on their home uniform.
If you’re going to buy a gift, a Yankees dad hat would be perfect since it’s the most popular hat by far (more info on dad hats here). Right now it’s being worn by dads and the young guys. And since they’re adjustable, you don’t have to worry about sizing.
Now let’s shift the focus on where the Yankees play their home games. Yankees stadium was rebuilt int 2009. If you’re looking to make it by public transportation, then you can catch the B, D, and 4 trains via MTA. If you’ve ever been to the stadium, you’ll see Yankees hats for sale all over the stadium. We sell the same exact hat and you can avoid all the hassle of getting to the stadium, your hat doesn’t increase in value because you bought it at the stadium or at another authorized reseller.
Yankees hats come in sizes for youngsters to adult men’s and adult women’s. The Yankees onfield comes in all sizes to fit youngsters and those of us with really big heads. Unfortunately, due to low demand, many shops won’t stock up on your size if it’s really small or big. Stocking inventory is very costly and if your size is an 8 1/2 then don’t expect to see an exclusive done for a shop to stock your size because the reality is there aren’t a lot of people with a size 8 1/2 head. You may see the on field teams being stocked in bigger sizes because they tend to be classics and it makes sense to do that.
We talked about how many people simply adore the Yankees and hence wear Yankees hats to represent but we also mentioned that many simply wear it because it looks great on quite literally any outfit choice.
With legends like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Yogi Berra, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle and more, there’s good reason to want to wear a Yankees hat. Everyone loves a winner. The Yankees have won the most MLB titles than any other team with 27, as previously mentioned and they have a shot this year to win it.
When you wear a Yankees hat, some people will assume you’re a fan and occasionally you may have to let the person know whether or not you are a fan. If you are, you may warrant lots of baseball talk which is a good thing. Strike up a conversation with others. Nothing wrong with that!
But be prepared because there’s ton to talk about in almost any era of baseball in the last 100 years. A good Yankees fan will be able to give you stories upon stories of great Yankees legends and their big wins. Of course if you’re not a fan and just wear it for the heck of it, you can still use it as a conversation starter with others even if you’re not going doing the fan talk avenue.

As we mentioned prior, Yankees hats come in different silhouettes from fitted to snapback to dad hat to beanie and so on. Time and time again, the Yankees out perform other teams and its because of the trifecta – they have a great winnning history, they have a great logo, and that dark navy and white is pure gold.
Now you may live in a sunny state and love wearing your Yankees hat because you not only like it for above said reasons but you appreciate the functional aspect of it, namely the protection from sun glare. Try catching a fly ball or a popup without a hat on. You might end up ducking or running away from an oncoming baseball. So on second thought, we don’t recommend you try catching fly balls without a hat on.
This year the on field Yankees hat features something that hasn’t happened, at least not in recent memory – the New Era logo is now on the on fiend fitteds. There are many that were not happy about that. We think the ones without the logo were great because it gave the team logo full objective focus. Now your eyes are battling between the Yankees logo or the New Era logo. Maybe it’s one of those things we’ll have to let them grow on us. We wonder whose idea this was, MLB or New Era? The uniforms have Majestic’s logo so there’s a legitimate argument for them on the hats as well – though the New Era logo is just as big as the Majestic logo and keep in mind a hat has less real estate space than a jersey. So it does draw attention away from the rest of the hat, namely the logo.
If anyone knows who initiated this, the MLB or New Era we’d love to know. Was there some market research done? Or was this a rogue mission? No matter what the politics are, Yankees hats are sought after and the customer doesn’t care about all the behind the scenes stuff. They want their hat now and preferably yesterday if you could defy time and go into to the past.
We’ve covered just about every angle when it comes to Yankees hats. We’ve linked all the pictures to the respective product pages so you can see more images and make the purchase if you’d like.
